Sinbad's Hot Dogs originated in San Leandro, California.
It rapidly earned the reputation among locals as the Spot for Hot Dog lovers. The
foot-long franks are steamed to perfection and served on a steamed bun.
The Chaump Family migrated from San Leandro to Northern
Nevada in May of 1978. Discovering that there weren't any quality hot dog restaurants in
the Reno/Sparks area, they decided to start their own. So, in May of 1978 they opened
their first store in downtown Reno.
After several months it was clear they had a
wiener...winner. In September of 1979, they purchased Sinbad's Hot Dogs, located in
Sparks, Nevada. In this, their flagship store, they have sold more than 1,000,000 hot dogs
in the location's 20 year history.
As it turns out, the recipe for Sinbad's Hot Dogs dates back as far
as the 1930's. The all-beef foot-long franks have been enjoyed by aficionados ever since.
Yet, there is more to Sinbad's than great hot dogs. It's the fast
and friendly service that has made it so popular in Northern Nevada.
If you haven't tasted a Sinbad's Hot Dog yet, then you're in for a
big treat.
